Digipak Analysis

The album cover does not have no text and it doesn't need it due to the fact the image speaks for itself as her facial expression explains it for itself this is very clever due to that facial expressions show show more than text. The CD cover has an image of a light pink rose this goes with them theme of roses in the digipak and it shows her feminine touch with her laying with loads of roses and roses as the CD cover. The roses on the CD and the roses that Rihanna is laying on contrast between each other as is shows a sense of variety.
In the image of rihanna laying down it shows her bold bright hair standing out with all the other roses this just shows her calmness and her sassiness. The colouring of the roses contrast well with the colour of the artist skin as it makes the red stand more bold and more visible, the is very useful for the digipak as it makes it stand out and have that rawness towards the digipak.
Also on the digipak her eyes are closed this could shows a sign of her embracing the music and her feeling and passion that she has. However the red could show a sense of danger and this could be shown in the her album.
Rihanna dark red lips are a big attraction as it is a big eye opener, is shows that it suits with the whole album as the theme is a red and pink outline but the lips just show her sexiness and sassiness that she has.

Rihanna Magazine Analyses

The advantages and good points about this magazine is that it has most of the conventions that are involved in the cover , it has an image of the album in the bottom right hand corner which is useful because if you wanted to purchase the album you can just look for that image. All the colours in the cover suit and contrast well with each other, the pink matches everything in the cover, its very eye catching which automatically brings you to look at the magazine cover. It has her name on the top who is the artist and the album name which is called 'loud' on the magazine cover it says it out now which tells you that you can buy the album. The big image in the middle is very unique as it shows that she's a sophisticated person.

The disadvantages to the magazine cover is that at the top of the magazine cover the colouring of the artist name is hard to see so if you was briefly looking at the cover you would think 'Ihanna' not 'Rihanna' due to the fact its quiet hard to stop and see. The other disadvantage to the magazine cover is it tells you that the albums out but its doesn't tell a specific date so it could be out for a long time but you wouldn't know when it come out so Rihanna could of released another cover by that time.

Magazine Advert Conventions

In a magazine you are likely to find these conventions :

- Release Date
- Album Name
- The Artists Name
- Reviews / Quotes / Stars
- Websites
- Scanning icons for more information about the magazine
- Image
- Were the song is avaliable like HMV, Itunes etc

Below is a type of magazine advert for david ford and someone has created this and they have included the different types of conventions like the release date at the top of the cover, the artist name in yellow writing. the album name underneath the artist name. It has the big image of the guitar in the middle which draws the views eyes.
